On 8 March 2019, the Hague Convention on Private International Law entered into force between Belgium and the Dominican Republic, by means of which the countries mutually recognise the authenticity of the signature, seal or stamp appearing on the apostille of both countries. As of the date indicated, documents issued and certified with an Apostille in Belgium to be used in the Dominican Republic do not require legalisation by the Dominican Embassy in Belgium.
However, translations made in Belgium of documents certified with an Apostille must be certified by our embassy; otherwise, there is no guarantee that they will be accepted in the Dominican Republic.
The cost depends on the document. Please inquire by phone +32 2 346 49 35 or via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
